Bathroom recessed lighting is the main source of illumination in many bathrooms. Recessed lights are available as downlights, wall accents, and wall washers. The most common type of recessed lighting used in the bathroom is downlighting. Downlighting can be placed over the vanity, as pictured in this image. When a mirror is over the vanity, make sure to place the recessed lighting close to the mirror and use a light color countertop that reflects light. This will cut down and glare and shadows.

Many people also use bathroom recessed lighting in other places such as the shower, over the whirlpool, toilet, or most commonly, in the main room of the bathroom.
